Billionaire investor George Soros plans to walk down the aisle a third time.
The 82-year-old recently became engaged to his 40-year-old girlfriend Tamiko Bolton, an education and healthcare consultant who now runs a yoga instruction website, according to media reports. Soros has five children from two previous marriages; Bolton was married once.
The couple met in 2008 at a luncheon in New York, according to Bloomberg, and Soros announced the engagement at his 82nd birthday party in Southampton, New York over the weekend. The couple plans to marry next summer.
The octogenarian is asking a court to dismiss a lawsuit from a former 29-year-old Brazilian girlfriend over a Manhattan apartment he allegedly promised her but gave to Bolton.
It’s not clear to what extent Soros is hedging against a breakup. “It is well known that Mr. Soros will leave the bulk of his estate to charity but he intends to provide generously for his wife,” Soros’ attorney William Zabel told The New York Post when asked about a prenuptial agreement.
Soros converted his Soros Fund Management to a $25 billion family office last year and remains involved in humanitarian causes and Democratic politics.
