The $1.3 billion P. Schoenfeld Asset Management has added two credit specialists. James Malley, a former portfolio manager at Chilton Investment Management, has joined as a co-portfolio manager for PSAM Rebound, its credit vehicle. The firm has also added Phil Brown as a vice president.
The recent hires are part of PSAM’s push to take advantage of opportunities in the U.S. and Europe. Malley is working with Peter Faulkner, who was previously the sole portfolio manager of PSAM Rebound. At Chilton, Malley managed a distressed fund. Before that, he spent nine years in Angelo Gordon’s distressed securities group. Brown comes from Sun Capital Partners with10 years of experience in distressed debt.
