T. Boone Pickens is funding a new $2.5 million training center and guest lodge at the Dallas-area Happy Hill Farm Academy, a school for disadvantaged children from elementary school through high school who are referred by counselors, Child Protective Services and other organizations. The training center will be used to teach other communities how to replicate the school’s program throughout the country and hopes to help thousands of school children each year. Students at the Happy Hill Farm Academy live, work and attend school on the 500 acre farm cost free.
