There’s proof Stanley Druckenmiller intends to focus on philanthropy following the closure of his Duquesne Capital Management.
According to tax filings, Druckenmiller transferred more than $700 million to his personal foundation in 2009, increasing it from $6.5 million the year before. As a result, he was ranked as the top individual contributor to charity in 2009 by the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
Druckenmiller is already an active giver, serving as chairman of the board and contributing $25 million to the non-profit Harlem Children’s Zone in 2006, and giving $100 million in 2009 with his wife Fiona to New York University’s Langone Medical Center to establish a neuroscience institute.
Druckenmiller has also contributing to other notable causes, including the Robin Hood Foundation, Bowdoin College, Human Rights Watch, Teach for America and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
